2023 Recycling Center Donation

The Community Project for 2023 involved a donation of funds for the local recycling center, the newly formed Ecología de Ribera Chapala, A.C. They assumed operation of the Centro de Acopio (recycling center) in West Ajijic in March of 2023. Although they made significant progress toward expanding the efforts and volume of recycling, their most pressing need was to replace the covers on the two open tents and purchase an additional tent before the rainy season. The three tents covered three areas: the clear glass and plastic, the amber and green glass areas, and a shaded area to protect workers from the sun as they crush the glass. The Garden Guild provided a check to the recycling center for $25,000.00 pesos for the purchase of the tents.
